International martial arts competitor and current Strategic student Omaira Molina continues her reign as top in her division for Karate Combat this year. This Venezuelan native has represented her country for almost a decade in her chosen sport of karate. Despite moving to Panama and finally the United States for improved opportunities and training with the Strategic MMA gym, she stays connected to her homeland and family. They include many high-profile martial artists, too, with both parents and an uncle competing in various divisions in the past.
As of today, she is working with head coach Tiago Beowulf and Coach Ness to stay in top shape and perfect her skills even more. Omaira looks forward to additional competitions in the future.
The latest win is just another in a long list of successes for Omaira. Although she began martial arts young in her home country of Venezuela, she has racked up numerous international titles and medals on her martial arts journey.
She fought in the women’s kumite +68 kg or bantamweight divisions. In 2014, she ranked third at the Central American and Caribbean Gains in Mexico and got another third place a year later at the Pam American Games in Canada. In 2018, she returned to the site of her first medal and won a gold medal . She helped propel Venezuela to the top of the list for total medals that year. A silver finish at the 2019 Pan American games in Peru rounded out her record before her experience with Karate Combat.
Omaira Molina’s latest triumph comes at the 2022 Karate Combat competition. This full-contact martial arts contest bills itself as the contact sport of the future. There is no doubt that the crowd turned out to cheer on Omaira as she is one of the fan favorites.
This latest in the long line of international karate competitions netted her a 4-0-0 record as she triumphed over the other women in her weight class. As of today, she has won three times by unanimous decision and the fourth by TKO.
Our head coach, seven-time kickboxing champion and specialist in kickboxing along with Coach Ness have been training Omaira to prepare for this latest competition. We are honored that she trains with us and part of the Strategic Academy family.
