The Strategic MMA Family would like to congratulate Mercedes, James and Max on their amazing accomplishments this past weekend at the IBJJF Jiu Jitsu Con and Masters World Championship!
During the last twelve months alone, these three athletes have represented the academy and achieved remarkable feats at some of the biggest Brazilian Jiu Jitsu championships, to name a few:
Mercedes has won IBJJF’s PanAms and various IBJJF’s Opens (weight and absolute), even after suffering a fracture!
James has also medaled a bronze at PanAm’s, many gold (weight and absolute), silver at Masters World Absolute and the gold medal in his weight class, placing him to number one in the world!
Not to be outdone, Max is an ADCC Open champion, bronze medalist at Kids’ PanAms and a Kids Con champion three years in a row, while competing as an orange belt for the first time!
Honorable mention to Humberto, who’s been forced to be on the sidelines recovering from an injury but who has also secured gold and double gold medals at the same IBJJF Opens, and we can’t wait to see him back!
This is a direct consequence of the leadership provided by no other than Professor Thiago Saldanha, who picked up the program three years ago and has dedicated his efforts in making the best athletes in the sport! His teachings have pushed all athletes to a higher level, and we’re very grateful to have him with us!
