On October 4th, under the direct leadership of 2nd Degree Black Belt Thiago Saldanha, Strategic delivered a specialized De-escalation and Tactical Control seminar to the officers of the Perth Amboy Police Department.
Leading this training, Professor Thiago emphasized a principle that defines his entire method: true control comes from technical understanding. It’s not enough to know a move — you must understand the mechanics, the timing, and the de-escalation point of every technique.
Under his instruction, officers were trained in his proven system of control without excessive force — a method built over years of high-level competition and specifically adapted for law enforcement. A system focused on leverage and control, designed to reduce injury risk for both the officer and the individual being approached.
More than techniques, this seminar delivered decision-making under pressure.
We thank the Perth Amboy Police Department for their trust in Professor Thiago Saldanha’s leadership and methodology.
